Step into a world where movement knows no bounds. Waken Connect Transform Ecstatic Dance invites you to let go of structured steps and embrace the freedom of spontaneous expression. Our sessions are a curated journey through global music, usually starting with gentle, soothing melodies that gradually build into energetic crescendos over the course of the musical adventure. The music is always a vibrant mix, spanning various genres and eras, designed to keep you moving and engaged.In this space, your body is your guide.
Move as you feel—whether that’s jumping, spinning, flowing through ballet, or breaking out into hip hop or salsa. Everything is welcome. You might find yourself doing freestyle, swing, or even an imaginary tap dance. Feel free to lie down, stretch, or sit quietly if that’s what your body needs. Every form of movement is celebrated here.
Connections happen naturally. You might dance alone, with a partner, or join a group. Circles of dancers may form and dissolve, creating a dynamic and inclusive environment. Physical contact is optional, and you can choose to engage with others or enjoy your own space. This is your dance.
Sound is also a powerful part of this experience. We will encourage you to find and explore your sound, whether it’s a joyful shout, a primal roar, or any authentic sound that arises from within. This is a space to explore and express your sound as freely as your movements.
Waken Connect Transform Ecstatic Dance is a sanctuary for exploring yourself through movement and sound without judgment. It’s about being present, listening to your body, and expressing yourself authentically. Here, you can dance your truth and connect with the rhythm of life.

These events invite you to set an intention, to quieten the mind for a moment, to tune into your body, and to allow your body to speak through its unique movement, rhythm, and dance. Learn to give no concern with how you look as you move, or whether it looks like anything you’ve ever done or seen before. If it feels good, do that.
Allow the vibe, flow, rhythm and energy of music to take you on an inner journey. Your journey may be a way to release or find something within you; to tap into or nurture your creativity; a contribution to healing by letting your body make the moves it needs; or a melodic accompaniment to a conscious moment of self-appreciation. Or some of each. Allow discomfort, 'feel-in' to any resistance and tightness, and move and dance it all through you. Relax, let your body do the talking, and receive all the permission you need to simply let go.
